Something Better

This is my first post on the blog, and I’m excited to get the ball rolling! I just went through a move of epic proportions from Southeastern Virginia, to Seattle Washington. Since then I was inspired to start fresh on my website that has entertained so many over the years and completely redesign it for “The Big 25”. I’ve lived all over the US and Washington could be one of my favorite places to live along with Massachusetts. In this post we’ll explore the history of lukeevanson.com, how GoatTech came to be, and what I hope to achieve with this new beginning.

The History Of The Website

This is where it all began. Chesapeake Virginia. 2023. School was hard, and I had many ways to entertain myself, including coding, games, and some writing. I excelled at almost every class, wanting something more to do. When I first started the website, it was an escape from the boredom, something I could share with the world. Originally this was hardcoded from HTML and the like. I spent a long time figuring out what it would be, changing it up every few weeks until landing on a game site. What fun would it be to have my own?

I added games off of GitHub and got some of my friends to play it, but it never took off until the next year. I switched to WordPress and named it “BlueBlog” and was able to spend more time on the site rather than the coding, and the game pages took off. I was beloved by my class and my grade. Until I moved. Until now.

The History Of GoatTech

One school day I was bored. Very bored. I had tried some fun companies, like Linx, with my friend Tobyn; eventually I landed on TechGoats. That still sounded weird though, so I kept thinking. One day I thought to myself, hey why don’t I just flip the words around? GoatTech was born. Now why goats? I’ve never really placed my original obsession with goats, but now I have a continuation of it because of my company. After all, goats are goated!

The first iteration of my company wasn’t really a company. I put it on the original games page as “GameGoats” and left it, but in the BlueBlog iteration I began to really think over the GoatTech brand and designed a logo. It was all Canva graphics, but a decent start. I slapped it on a page, put some contact info, and called it a day. It remained until this summer, where I’ve decided to reboot and make this entire site GoatTech.

The Future Of GoatTech

It’s been two years since the quiet founding of my company, and this new beginning has me thinking – what am I even doing with GoatTech? As discussed in the introductory blurb on the homepage, I’ve been branching out. I got a 3D printer, a hydroponic garden, and more! My goal is to expand the game site to get the viewers, and then work on the blog to get people interested in GoatTech. When you’re reading this post it might be a year from now, or a few weeks! I really hope every one of you enjoys my website and all it has to offer.

From the bottom of my heart I thank everyone who supported me in the years of this website and before. My friends Arjun, Wyatt, Tobyn (@tobynfighterok2), Hudson, and more kept me going. I hope that everyone enjoys the redesign to a more modern, dark mode style, and transition from a personal blog to something bigger. Something Better. I can’t wait to see you in my next post!
